Fertilisation of crops and permanent pastures

Meeting the nutritional requirements of plants to obtain high crop yield of good quality is the main aim of fertilisation. Maintaining optimal (average) soil richness in nutrients is a secondary function.

Nutrient deficiency results in lower yields and impairs the quality of plant products. Balanced nutrition with all nutrients is crucial for the proper growth and yield of plants. Deficiency of any macro- or even micronutrient results in lower yields and reduces the efficiency of other nutrients.
